I'm probably older than everyone else here (Good God) but I marched winterguard in HS (Ramona HS in Riverside, CA) and then went on to march the 1984 season of Freelancers. Wow - that WAS a long time ago.

im so much more a rifle than a flag. i was forced to be a flag during marching season, finally got to be a rifle for W.g. but ya.... i *love* rifle. it's clearly superior to other equipment. ok, well, crossbowls (sp?) are pretty cool. and fire spinning also kicks ass (this is, in my mind the only thing in my world that trumps rifle).
hahahha.
you were in freelancers? thats sweet. i thought i was the only person in the world who had heard of them.

Maybe next year I'll toy with the idea... Ive leaped into a huge fire and volunteered to teach a local guard.... of course warning the band director that Im ooooooooold school and weak as hell!! LMAO He said he didnt care and that I just needed to treat the kids right :-D
Steve, Mark and arrrugh someone else.... dark hair... marched in 85 Freelancers... short beard and mustsche... arrrugh.... they taught Spectra in 86 then... it was an entire show of tosses and exchanges... too fun!! So much fun, I cant even remember if it was exhibition or if we were actually competing... lol. -

Mon, April 24, 2006 - 7:12 PMOMG - Paul and Colleen help with RCR - Paul worte our drill and is teaching us it now... They also just had another baby, little boy.
Well you should definitely check us out for next season, we have a lot of members from your area, so you could ride share. Also, I'll send you our show schedule I think we have one Stockton show and two Modesto shows this year.

Mon, April 24, 2006 - 8:04 PMI knew Paul and Colleen taught there... I was at the Stockton show and ran into Paul.... but I was sad that I didnt see Vince :-( I havent seen him since oh... 92.... he was like my big brother years and years ago.
I cant say much about the guard Im teaching.... they are still in the process of changing instructiors so the announcment isnt official yet.
But anyone wanna help me out??? I kid you not... I havent picked up a flag in 19 years... a rifle in 20 years and never never never spun a sabre.... HELP!! lol
